Jaz bom drugo leto spet tam.
After a couple of years of “preparation” I finally managed to get to Markovci for Fasenk. Everything they say about it is true. A relaxed atmosphere, friendly locals, no fences. A paradise for photography. There is no point in wasting too many words, it has to be seen in person.
I will be there again next year.
I took a lot of photos, just a few of them are collected in the galleries below. Just browse through them.
Najprej Koranti. V Markovcih nikar ne iščite Kurentov.
First the Korants. Don’t look for Kurents in Markovci.
Del tradicije so tudi Cigani. Veliko njih.
Gypsies are also part of the tradition. Lots of them.
Nekaj ostalih tradicionalnih mask.
Some other traditional masks.
V korantijah se skriva veliko otrok. Tradicija tukaj še ne bo zamrla.
There are many children hiding in the “korantija”. Tradition will not die here.
Of course, there are also modern masks at Fasenk. The locals are never short of ideas.
Finally, if you’ve made it this far, here are some black and white photos.
Tako. Zimo smo pregnali. Do naslednjega leta.
So, we have chased away winter. Until next year.
